Important Announcement regarding COVID-19 Outbreak

Dear Brothers and Sisters, Assalamu Alaikum,
Due to the worldwide pandemic situation of Coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak, on behalf of Baitul Jannah Islamic Center, we would like to provide some simple preventative measures to help reduce the spread of harmful COVID-19 virus.

  • Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, especially after using the washroom and when preparing food

  • Use alcohol-based hand sanitizer if soap and water are not available

  • Cough or sneeze into a tissue or the bend of your arm, not your hand

  • Dispose of any tissues immediately you have used and wash your hands afterwards

  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose or mouth with unwashed hands

  • Avoid close contact with people who are sick

  • Make wudu at home before coming to BJIC

  • Bring your own prayer mat

  • No gathering or socializing before or after the prayer

  • As per the Public Health Agency of Canada (PHAC), there is an increased risk of COVID-19 more for elderly people aged 65 and over, with compromised immune systems and with underlying medical conditions. Hence elderly people are encouraged to stay safe at home.

If you experience symptoms of COVID-19 (e.g. fever, cough, difficulty breathing):

  • Stay home for two weeks if you have travelled outside Canada

  • Stay home and self-isolate to prevent the spread of viruses

  • if you must leave your home, wear a mask or cover your mouth and nose with tissues, and maintain a 2-metre distance from others

  • cover your mouth and nose with your arm or tissue when coughing and sneezing and dispose the tissue immediately

  • Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces

  • If you experience symptoms of COVID-19, contact immediately to Telehealth Ontario (1-866-797-0000) or Toronto Public Health (416-338-7600)
